A born and raised Albertan, Calgary is my home since 1979.
In 2002, I attended my first Family Foundations International seminar with my husband, in a desperate attempt to change our dysfunctional marriage. We attended several seminars together, and while I chose the path of healing, he couldn’t release the pain and bitterness that were rooted in childhood wounds and gave up. His anger and low self-esteem affected all his relationships. Our children and I lived in fear much of the time. I kept attending FFI seminars on my own, and thanks to the truths that I learned and the heart ministry I received, I continued to grow. After 26 years in a roller-coaster marriage, my husband and I separated and we divorced 3 years later. It took police intervention to help me realize this was the only way to end the destructive, abusive cycle of ‘victim, rescuer and persecutor’ we were living in. Even though I believe strongly in Covenant Marriage, there are times when family safety becomes priority and boundaries need to be set in order to end abuse. Overcomers of Domestic Violence can choose to close that door so it doesn’t become a generational curse, and they can start a legacy of generational blessing. Once you learn to separate IDENTITY from BEHAVIOUR, you can forgive and move forward.
In order to keep learning, growing and healing after years of being in ‘survival mode’, I became an FFI Facilitator about 12 years ago. I took the FFI Co-Coordinator training a few years ago with Neil and Annette in Kona and am passionate to see others find hope. Craig Hill’s teachings are full of ‘lightbulb’ moments, and are truly life changing if you are willing to let go of your pain, dispel the lies you believe and let God replace them with His truth! It’s your choice!
